The Big Boss

“Management is all about managing in short term, while developing the plans for long term” – Jack Welch

When asked the question,” Who is your role model for being a good manager?” the mind wander around to get the answer. We think about who was the one to teach us on the trending corporate world, who was there to guide us when we are stuck up somewhere, who was there to give us pep-talk when we are low, who inspired us to be a team player etc. Unanimously what we forget is, there is this person who shadows us since our birth and plays all the roles we look for so far. Yes! It’s none other than our MOM.

She is an angel who has been deputed in our family to make it organized and march towards growth. As a kid, she supervised us on all our learning and achievements. She predicted and planned the grocery needs and purchased based on the consumption habit of our family members. She has been the unpaid financial manager, cutting cost where it is needed and adding on bonus when it is necessary. She acted as the point of contact for all the happenings of our neighbours, relatives and keep us posted on the society. Not even to mention about her role in taking care of the welfare of the housemates.

What if she didn’t find a creative way, to make us sit and learn, each time we escape from studies?

What if she didn’t allow to mingle with kids of diversified backgrounds?

What if she didn’t teach us that anything scheduled can be completed without any fuss?

What if she didn’t sit and console us on our failures and make us believe that there’s a lot beyond that failure?

What if she didn’t make us learn to be accountable for the works and mistakes we do?

What if she didn’t teach us to feel empathetic and patient towards our sibling?

What if she didn’t preach us being loyal and honest are two pillars to win anywhere?

What if she didn’t allow us to analyse the pros and cons in any matter we have to decide upon?

It really did amaze us when we go through these thoughts. She has been sowing all these seeds in the land of our life. May this day be considered as a moment to thank her for all that we are today!

Ku-dos to the all time best manager!
